Is online martial arts training worth my time? Nothing beats face to face and face to mat training time. But you cannot always get what you want. If you try sometime you find you get what you need (online)
We are primarily a Krav Maga school, however all modern martial styles and systems need to constantly challenge themselves. Jiu Jitsu and Judo have been huge influences on the Kinetic Zen coaching staff and we admire Eli Knight’s style and approach massively. We hope to go visit and train in person, in the meantime love this digital seminar!

For free content and techniques we post daily on our various social media platforms. See links at the bottom of the page to follow us on Instagram, Youtube or Facebook. If you would like a free video consult on whether our approach to Krav Maga is right for you, just drop me a line using this contact form
And yes we are happy to discuss whether another system or school might suit you better. 🙂
Krav Maga is different from traditional martial arts in several ways, but most importantly it aims to avoid fighting if possible. The only street fights you win are the ones you avoid. If this is not possible the emphasis shifts to ending it as fast and efficiently as possible, leaving and going home safely.
I quite like this definiton of Krav Maga from the Army Rumour service:
“Israeli Japslapping. Please do not confuse Krav Maga with martial arts of the conventional or oriental variety. There is no philosophy involved here except for one – give your opponent an unbelievably brutal shoeing as quickly as possible to prevent the bugger from brutally shoeing you first.
A pretty good philosophy if survival is your aim. The theory is that if it works, use it. High kicks, complicated manouvers and impractical techniques are stripped out and operates on a bare minimum needed to get the job done.”
